We hosted the 29th Tiger Relays tonight. I'm not sure if the competition was off a little or we were just that good, but we scored 126 points and the second place team scored 59. And there were 10 schools competing! Of the thirteen events that were held tonight, we won eleven of them and finished second in the other two. While it's true that one of our competitors didn't race their top athlete tonight because of injury, we've got girls who are injured that competed anyways! Our 4x400m relay team set a new meet record, which is pretty good considering some of the schools that have competed in this meet.
If you were wondering, the field events were: shot put (3 throwers), discus (3 throwers), long jump (3 jumpers), high jump (3 jumpers), and pole vault ( 2 vaulters). The best effort of each individual is added together to come up with a team total. The running events were: 100m shuttle hurdles, 4x800m relay, sprint medley (100m-100m-200m-400m), distance medley (800m-400m-1200m-1600m), 4x100m, middle distance medley (800m-400m-400m-800m), 4x200m, and 4x400m.
We're supposed to compete in the Stillwater Valley Invite. this Tuesday, but the weather they're calling for sounds lousy. Conference is in approximately three weeks, so I need to give the girls that are nursing injuries time to heal. At least this past week of weather has been awesome! :]
