Home, Sweet Home

Made it part way through the movie "Alvin & the Chipmunks" tonight. Boys were getting tired so we paused until tomorrow. I know that warm, sunny weather is just around the corner, but this damp, overcast, dreary weather has been depressing. It's been difficult getting myself motivated to run and even more so keeping the girls on my team healthy and free of injuries.

Conner has his first soccer game of the season tomorrow. He brought home his 3rd nine-weeks report card and we're pleased with it and very happy for him. All "A's" except one "B." We'll take the "B" since it's an improvement over what he previously had and his handwriting continues to get better. We had a long talk (okay, for him 15 minutes is long) yesterday about being thankful and grateful for what we have. He and his brother have sooooooo many toys, yet constantly want something else. If they don't get what they want, they pout or throw a fit. We talked about appreciating what we've been blessed with and sharing with others. We used the Veggie Tales video about Madam Blueberry and Stuff Mart as an example. I told him it was likely my fault that he was spoiled and it's my responsibility to make sure he learns what it means to be thankful too. (I think at least a little of what I said got through.)

Hope you have a happy and blessed weekend! Warm weather is on it's way!!! :]
