New Debut, Part II

Thanks to everyone who welcomed me to the world of blogging! And yes, Kris, now you get the chance to cyber-stalk me like I've been doing to a number of you over the past several months. Our third nine-weeks is over and grades are due by 8:00 am tomorrow. Is anyone surprised that I've yet to finish inputing my grades? I'll let you in on a little secret. (You shouldn't be.)

After our first track meet of the 2008 season on Saturday today's practice didn't seem to go well. We've had such high expectations placed on our team, by ourselves as well as others, after winning conference the last two years that to finish third on Sat. felt like a real let down. On the bright side, we get another chance next week against several of our conference rivals. I think the team will be amazed at what warmer weather, less sickness, and fewer injuries will accomplish. I don't believe that we should pray for victory or to triumph in athletic contests, but I do believe that God will watch over us and keep us safe/healthy if we pray for His protection, guidance, and mercy.

As a distance runner, one of my favorite verses from the Bible says "...if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me...." (Acts 20:24) Do you know what that task is?
